Diamon Jones. Amulet of Peace: Review

To be honest, I’m already tired of oohing and ahhing about another pseudo-adventure game. Moreover, for the developers, our indignation is like peas against the wall – they continue to release mediocre and poorly put together crafts, each time swelling with pride in their works.

Diamon Jones is the hero of the studio’s next creation Litera Laboratories. Doesn’t remind me of anything? Copying ideas from world-famous brands is a favorite technique of developers who are not capable of creating an original character and a fascinating plot. Here everything is like a carbon copy – a young and brave archaeologist, adventures, treasures, bandits; But the hero doesn’t have enough hat, why did they skimp??

In a mossy Egyptian diner, Damon Jones Nonukcasinosites.co.uk/review/beonbet-casino/ stumbles upon a rather drunk archaeologist who reveals the secret of untold treasures. The information, by the way, was received at the right time, since Jones has only one copper coin in his pocket (which we will spend right in the first location). But they won’t let us search for the treasure in peace – we will be followed by thugs sent by the mafia boss. Moreover, we will be able to periodically control one of the bandits – a discouraging sight, because we were just escaping from being chased, and now suddenly we ourselves are acting as pursuers.

It’s immediately clear that the developers tried to diversify the gameplay. Besides the classic point-n-ckick in “Diamon Jones. Amulet of Peace“there are arcade elements – basically, these are tasks to maintain balance using mouse buttons. As for quest puzzles, there was a smell of mothballs here almost immediately – the notorious “guess the melody”, “put the piece of paper together” and “pick the lock” attack us with manic frequency. It seems that in Litera Laboratories They just started playing quests yesterday, so these types of tasks are new to them.

Unfortunately, this is not the case – this is not the first project for the Voronezh studio. Their previous adventure game “The Angry, the Bad and the Sober” was released almost a year earlier. However, no evolution within the genre or improvement in quality occurred – almost the same complaints against Jones as there were against cowboy Jack.

The question for domestic adventure game developers has long been overdue – who told them that a quest in the post-Soviet space must necessarily be cartoonish and humorous?? Moreover, both graphics and humor should be second-rate, flat and designed for a very unpretentious player? During the adventure, we constantly have to listen to jokes from the main character in the spirit of “Full House” – he will not leave a single event without comment. In addition, the voice acting of the characters in “Amulet of Peace” leaves much to be desired – there is neither good acting nor decent musical accompaniment here.

When we misuse an item or try to do something illogical, Damon Jones asks, “What’s the point??”. In my opinion, this phrase can be an excellent leitmotif for everything that happens. One gets the feeling that even Jones himself understands that the plot is terrible, he himself is just a pathetic copy and semblance of the main character, the tasks are banal and uninteresting, and therefore he is trying to reach out to the developers with the question “What is the point in releasing this game, dear Litera Laboratories?”. As usual, there will be no answer.

Pros: Fans of Petrosyan and third-rate adventure games will be delighted.
Cons: The rest of the audience won’t even touch this dish.
